Federal museums will be able to reopen on December 1st and will receive an additional $2.5 million.
On Friday 27 November, the Consultation Committee decided, among other things, that the major federal museums (Fine Arts, Cinquantenaire, Africa Museum, Natural Sciences) as well as the Royal Library and the Planetarium will be able to reopen their doors to the general public from 1 December 2020. "This reopening has been prepared for several weeks by the teams of the federal museums, on the basis of a strict health protocol that will allow them to welcome visitors in the best possible conditions," assures the Secretary of State for Science Policy, Thomas Dermine.
Furthermore, the latter is delighted that, together with his colleague Eva De Bleeker, Secretary of State for the Budget, an additional amount of 2.5 million from the interdepartmental Coronavirus provision has been made available to ensure the financial health of these six institutions during this difficult times.
