New buildings and investment credits for the von Karman Institute
At the proposal of the State Secretary for Science Policy, Thomas Dermine, the Council of Ministers agreed on the choice of site for the new buildings of the von Karman Institute and on the confirmation of the granting of investment loans in 2021 and 2022.

Ghent becomes patron city for the new research vessel Belgica
The City of Ghent will be the patron city of the new Belgian research vessel Belgica. The ship will be christened in the port city in September 2021. This is what State Secretary for Science Policy Thomas Dermine and Mayor Mathias De Clercq have announced.

Recovery Plan: The Federal Government has determined its projects
On a proposal by Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and State Secretary for Recovery Thomas Dermine, the Federal Government today agreed on the outline of projects selected in the framework of the "Facility for Recovery and Resilience" (FFR) set up by the European Union.

Recovery Plan: a constructive first meeting with the European Commission
On Wednesday 20 January, the Secretary of State for Recovery and Strategic Investments, Thomas Dermine, met with a delegation from the European Commission to discuss Belgium's Recovery and Resilience Plan. This first official meeting comes in the wake of the agreement reached in the Consultation Committee on 12 January and the submission by Belgium of a first draft of the Recovery Plan.

The Federal Government and the Federated Entities approve the first draft of the Recovery Plan
The federal government and the federated entities have reached a political agreement on a first version of the Recovery and Resilience Plan and on the distribution of European subsidies between the different entities of the country. The agreement will soon be ratified by the Consultation Committee.
